What does it take to beat the rat race and actually build a life that supports your wellness? This is the journey of our featured client, as nutritionist Antoinette Liviola’s quest for health led her to coaching.
Antoinette, tell us how you got here! And what have you learned?
I came to nutrition coaching from the fashion industry. I was working as a sweater designer/director, and during that time, I became very sick. I was living a high-stress lifestyle with a poor diet, and it really caught up with me.
What was most frustrating was that I couldn’t find answers. I was being told everything looked “fine,” but I knew something wasn’t right. Eventually, I found a functional medicine doctor who started to connect the dots, and then worked with a Clinical Nutritionist who helped me finally begin to feel better.
I became so fascinated by how the right foods and nutrients were able to support my body that I found myself reading scientific research more than I was following fashion trends, and that’s when I knew I wanted to pursue this path.
In a lot of ways, it did come naturally. I grew up in an Italian family where food was central, and my mom cooked with whole, fresh ingredients as much as she could. I always had an awareness of how food could make you feel—either energized or off.
As I started to shift my own lifestyle and deepen my education, it really felt like a natural transition. That experience completely shaped my life—not just personally, but in how I now support others going through similar challenges.
Now I live on the East End of Long Island. I moved out here about five years ago after spending nearly 20 years near the city in Hoboken, New Jersey.
I became a Clinical Nutritionist because I wanted to help people struggling with chronic digestive issues and ongoing health conditions. I went through my own health challenges, and food played such a significant role in my recovery. That experience really shaped the way I approach my work.
What I love most is helping people better understand their bodies—how to listen to the signals they’re getting—and teaching them how food and nutrition can support their overall health, especially when they’re dealing with more complex or chronic concerns.
What a transformation! That’s what we love, to see clients notice persistent patterns of undesirable results and start to explore solutions through food. Not an easy process.
Has eating with Provenance been a helpful support for your ongoing health goals?
My meals from Provenance have honestly been a game-changer for me. They give me my time back during the week, especially for lunch, and I know I’ll have a nutritious, satisfying meal ready when I take a break between meetings.
I also feel confident that the meals are supportive of my digestion and keep me full, which makes a big difference in my energy and focus throughout the day. It’s helped me stay consistent with getting enough calories and balanced macronutrients without having to think about it.
I recommend Provenance to my clients quite often. It’s a great way for them to start making the nutrition shifts we’re working on without it feeling overwhelming or time-consuming.
I appreciate the quality of the ingredients; everything feels like real, whole food, with great flavor and presentation. I’ve tried other meal delivery services where meals arrived a bit smashed, and the foods/flavors all blended together, and that hasn’t been my experience here at all. I’ve been beyond happy with it.
The ordering process is also incredibly easy, and I love that there’s no pressure to commit to a subscription if you don’t want to. You’re also great about sending reminders, which makes it simple to adjust deliveries or swap meals. I’ve found other services can be a bit sneaky with upcoming orders, and that’s definitely not the case here.
When I’m choosing meals, I typically gravitate toward the Paleo options. I look for higher-protein meals, higher-protein meals, ideally around 30 grams or more, paired with non-starchy vegetables. I’ll also pay attention to the calorie content depending on what I need at the time.
I have a few favorite meals, but I’ve especially been loving the Cod Veracruz (it’s so good) and the Greek-style chicken.
Provenance is the meal delivery service that feels the most home-cooked and fresh to me. The meals are nutritious, clean, and thoughtfully made, while still being full of flavor.
I’ve tried several others, and this is by far the best experience I’ve had. I also really appreciate the flexibility. You can choose from Paleo, plant-based, or more balanced options depending on what you’re looking for.
