Women Changing The Face of Wellness

As a woman-owned and operated business, Provenance finds great value in empowering and supporting other females. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are recognizing fellow industry professionals and our wellness partners who are changing the face of health and wellness by bringing their strengths and passion to the forefront. Rather than working within the traditional limits of symptom-based treatment, these trailblazers are breaking boundaries to tackle and resolve issues from the source. Their contributions are advancing the modern state of health and wellness, ultimately paving the way for individuals to live healthier, happier lives.

Caroll Lee | Food + Beverage

Kicking off our list is Provenance’s own founder and CEO, Caroll Lee. As someone who loves all the food, Caroll first became hyper aware of the connection between what she eats and how she feels when she was pregnant with her first child. After graduating from nutrition school, she put her instincts to heal people through “food as medicine” into practice as a wellness coach dedicated to helping busy professionals achieve optimal wellbeing despite their jam packed schedules. Provenance Meals is the result of her work researching and investigating the root causes of lifestyle disease and the healing benefits of clean, organic, sustainably-sourced nutrition. By providing healthy, anti-inflammatory meals that are ready to eat and delivered to her clients’ doors, Caroll is impacting people’s lives by putting the tools to living an amazing life in their hands and mouths, one delicious bite at a time.

This modern clinic is revamping the way individuals receive medical care through functional medicine, a holistic approach to treatment that focuses on preventative measures in everyday life to prolong longevity and combat illness at the root. With an emphasis on healthy diet, frequent exercise, and a positive living environment, Robin and her team of practitioners go beyond pill prescriptions. Visit one of her treatment centers in New York or California, or schedule an appointment online.

Clean eating is a crucial tactic for the fitness guru, who now has studios in New York, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. Taryn developed The Cleanse, a program and E-Book filled with wellness practices, recipes, and more. Nadine Artemis.jpg

Nadine Artemis | Oral Health

Like most doctor visits, we weigh most of our oral health on those bi-annual trips to the dentist. However, oral health is one of the most, if not the most, commonly practiced sources of health. With a surge in popularity, alternative methods of dental care like oil pulling and tongue scraping are on the rise in natural wellness. Nadine Artemis, author of Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums, dives deep into the subject with habits and solutions to oral health using natural remedies. Nadine takes a “whole body approach” to oral care, focusing on the source of issues rather than the symptoms. Having worked with essential oils for almost 30 years, the founder of organic skin and body line Living Libations promotes natural living between Los Angeles and Toronto.

Laura Stembridge.png

Laura Stembridge | Mental Health

Corporate wellness is flourishing in the workplace with healthy snacks, group workout classes, occasional chair massages, and more. However, an estimated 1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness (via NAMI), suggesting that there is always room for improvement with support for employees. Laura Stembridge found her job taking a toll on her mental health and a severe lack of resources available to help her. As a result, she developed InsideOut, an on-demand mental health platform that provides mental health therapy and coaching as an employee benefit solution 24/7. Based in London, the mental health advocate is breaking the stigma and stimulating conversation.

Sacrée Frangine | Art

Social media is one of the biggest platforms to share and stimulate discussion. Illustrative duo Sacrée Frangine, which translates to ‘Sacred Sister’ in English, is expanding the conversation about women empowerment and diversity through sharing their art on their platforms and Etsy. Composed of Célia Amroune and Aline Kpade, the group has also collaborated with Wellbeing Magazine and Eco Femme, a women-led brand promoting sustainable, healthy, dignified menstrual practices. We have selected one of our favorite pieces as this blog’s cover photo, which was part of the Eco Femme campaign.
