Paleo Vs Primal

We at Provenance Meals are happy to see that the Paleo diet is not just a passing fad. Quite the opposite, as we see the rise in popularity of Paleo blogs, cookbooks, and restaurant options! Avoiding processed foods and refined sugar, eating gluten-free and dairy-free, and focusing on health through whole foods, exercise and stress reduction are all principles we firmly believe in.

That said, we understand that life in the modern world is quite different from caveman times! And we know that indulging in occasional dark chocolate, cheese and red wine are going to happen. (At least in my world.) So we like to follow what many call a "Primal" diet, which allows for grassfed butter, fermented soy such as miso or tamari, and easy to digest legumes such as lentils or green peas. And we will also be increasing the amount of dishes that are both Primal and Vegan!

Many of our Paleo dishes going forward are going to be more "Primal", so if you are following a strict Paleo diet, please let us know and we will make a note to send you a 100% Paleo menu whenever possible. Our 3 Day Paleo Detox will also continue to be strictly Paleo.

Whatever you call it, our food will always have high quality proteins sourced sustainably, abundant local organic vegetables, and healthy fats in the form of olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, and grassfed butter. And at the end of the day, how you feel is the most important than any label. So here's to feeling good!
